Recently, potential use of chitin derivatives as a cell scaffold for cartilage tissue engineering has been investigated [9].
In this study, we demonstrated that the TCP/CMCh composite had the potential for in situ cartilage tissue engineering by controling that micro structure.

Modelling of Piezo-Bond Structure System for Structural Health Monitoring Using EMI Technique Suresh Bhalla1 a, Sumedha Moharana1,b 1Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110016 (India) asbhalla@civil.iitd.ac.in , bsumedha_maharana@yahoo.in Keywords: Piezo-impedance transducer, electro-mechanical impedance (EMI) technique, shear lag, admittance signature, refined model and continuum based model.
During the last two decades, active research has gone into the theoretical and the practical aspects of the electro-mechanical impedance (EMI) technique for structural health monitoring (SHM).This paper reviews the theoretical developments in modelling the force transfer mechanism between the piezoelectric-ceramic (PZT) patch and the host structure pertinent to the EMI technique.
For the past few years, the piezoelectric ceramic (PZT) patches have demonstrated their suitability for SHM as part of the electro-mechanical impedance (EMI) technique for a wide variety of structures [1-7] For plate type PZT patches (where poling axis is in the thickness direction, i.e. axis 3), the electromechanical constitutive equations for linear material behaviour can be expressed as (1) (2) where T1 and S1 are stress and strain respectively along axis (1), d31 the piezoelectric strain coefficient, D3 the charge density, E3 the electric field along axis (3) and and the complex electric permittivity and Young’s modulus of the patch respectively.
