When used to measure the value of cable tension, the vibrating wire pressure sensor should be set into the structure of elastic material consisting of elastic material and sensor.
As is shown in Fig. 2, the cable, under effect of tension, makes the elastic material deformed, and then strain sensing material converts deformation of elastic material into a measurable signal, which will be processed by secondary instrument to obtain the value of cable tension.
