Introduction Since some applications of bonded dissimilar materials operate at elevated temperature, the stress field near the interface edge between dissimilar elements under creep regime becomes a critical issue.
Analytical Procedure The creep analysis for bonded dissimilar materials with an interface edge has been conducted under the plane-strain condition by a FEM code, ABAQUS 6.5.1.
The perfectly bonding condition is assumed on the interface between elastic and creeping materials.

Introduction Rock materials are widely used in civil and architectural engineering.
Rock is an inhomogeneous material in nature because it consists of many individual materials and components, including minerals, grains, cement materials, voids and cracks, et al.
Thus, studying the internal actual microstructures of rock materials is very important[3].
Yue et al.[5] processed grayscale images by some digital image processing techniques to detect microstructures of rock materials.
