Base on the previous researches, the paper classifies the slopes according to the types of rock-soil materials and the slopes structure, which have close relationships with the deformation features and failure modes of slopes.
In these methods, the classification by the types of materials and the slopes structure are closest to the deformation features and failure modes of slopes.
The slopes can be classified as soil slope, rock slope and rock and soil composite slope according to the types of materials.
