In contrast to vacuum brazing, only the joining zone is heated up to the brazing temperature so that the compound stresses are minimized.
The present work aims at brazing of ceramic and metal using CO2 gas laser by placing alumina ceramic and a titanium alloy in a sample holder and inserting the braze foil in between them.
From the XRD pattern, it is confirmed that a reaction layer is formed between the Ti6Al4V and KM72 interface containing Ti-Cu compounds.
No other compounds with Ag-Cu eutectic structure is observed.

Experimental Detail
Melting of Samarium cobalt alloys was carried out in induction melting furnace.
Two alloys were made.
First alloy contained 65 percent cobalt and the second alloy contained 40 percent cobalt.
Powder of both alloys was prepared by crushing and grinding under inert argon atmosphere.
Samples with varying proportions of two alloys were prepared and pressed isostaically in rubber molds at a pressure of 300 MPa.

Another possible way to increase the role of the intermetallic compounds in formation of composite properties is the creation of multi-layer systems, which will increase the proportion of the diffusion layers and keep a more regular structure typical for the solid-phase processes.
The aim of this work was to study the effect of heat treatment on the formation of the diffusion layers in multi-layer systems of aluminum-copper.
However, a small proportion of intermetallic compounds in such materials did not allow their significant effect on the properties of the composite to be realized.

As compared with
the conventional fastening techniques, shape memory alloys possess a unique combination of
properties which afford them a variety of advantages including: larger tolerance on mating parts,
low temperature installation, thermal cycling, repeatability and lower installed cost [1].
In addition, the appearance of joints and mechanical properties can meet the need of engineering. [6] The aim of the present work is to investigate the phase transformation and strain recovery behavior of Ti44Ni47Nb9 wide hysteresis shape memory alloy fastener ring by using the TIG welding technique.
Results and discussion Fig.3 shows the DSC curves of the base alloy and the welded joint of TiNiNb alloy fastener ring.

There are several types of Co-Cr-Mo alloys are currently in use.
Therefore, the aim of this work is to investigate the influence of thermal treatments on the corrosion rate of HC and LC Co-Cr-Mo alloys using Hank’s solution under controlled mechanical and electrochemical conditions.
However, peak counts for those compounds were less than Cr2O3 due to large amounts of Cr has distributed homogenously in the oxide layer and only the remnants of Cr react with Mn and Co.
