Abstract: A286 nickel-iron based superalloy used in high temperature applications.
Eta phases have deleterious effect on the tensile behavior of these alloys [7,8,11] whereas titanium carbides act as reinforcement ceramic particles which also have positive influence on the alloy’s properties because these hinder carbides formation and enhance the creep behavior [12].
The dark grey phases are TiC ceramic-particles, which grew in a face centered cubic structure, space group Fm3m and lattice parameter α = 4.32Å which is coherent with austenitic matrix.
