The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx with hydrocarbons as the reducing agent (HC-SCR) has attracted much attention, because it has the potential ability to eliminate NOx emissions from the lean-burn gasoline, diesel engines and natural-gas-fueled engines.
H2-TPR results (Figure 3 and Table 1) show that the Cu/H-Sep and Cu-Fe/H-Sep catalysts displayed two reduction peaks, corresponding to the reduction of highly dispersed CuO and bulk CuO species.
Compared with Cu/H-Sep, the shift of reduction to lower temperature for Cu-Fe/H-Sep indicates that the reducibility of the Fe-doped catalysts enhanced.

The advantages of this method are in the obtaining of both qualitative and quantitative data on defect behavior in materials.

In addition, the existence of K+, Na+, NH4+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ in solution caused a reduction of maximum adsorption capacity for both of the composites.
The bed depth service time (BDST) model and the Thomas model were used to analyze the experimental data and the model parameters were evaluated.
At low depths, the Cs+ do not have enough time to diffuse into the surface of the composites, and a reduction in breakthrough time occurs.
As seen from Fig. 3, two straight lines almost pass through the origin, which indicate the validity of the BDST model for the adsorption data of PAN-KCoCF and PAN-KNiCF.
The data in Table 3 also indicate that values of q0 decreased in the presence of other cations compared with the absence of them for both PAN-KCoCF and PAN-KNiCF.
