It produces prototypes, under the control of a computer, from plastic materials such as ABS, being with the properties of hot-melt and adhesion, by lying tracks of semi-molten plastic filament onto a platform from bottom to top.
The main reasons of its increasing popularity and use have been its reliability, safe and simple fabrication process, lower cost of materials, and the availability of a variety of building thermoplastics.
For FDM, the two concerns are how to develop new metal materials that can directly manufacture metal parts used in tooling, etc., and how to improve dimension accuracy.

A high power laser beam may be used as a source of heat to melt material in the form of powder/wire and subsequently, depositing it on a substrate, and forming a metallurgical bonded coating.
Material used and experimental methods Material used The substrate samples are aerial aluminum alloy (LY12CZ) plates, which are made into standard fatigue experiment specimens, and the simulated corrosion damage is placed in the center of the surface.
