Materials
A commercially produced plain-weave silk fabric (thickness 0.15 mm, weight 67 g/m2, fabric count per inch 96 x 80) was scoured with an aqueous nonionic surfactant solution at a temperature of 45°C for 30 minutes, thoroughly rinsed and air dried at room temperature.
The dye extraction was performed by mixing the plant material and distilled water in the weight ratio of 1:10 and boiling for 1 h.
