Quenched and Tempered steels (QT), Direct Quenched steels (DQ), Thermo-Mechanical Control Process steels (TMCP), High Strength and Ultra High Strength Low Alloy steels (HSLA) and some engineered UHSS called Advanced High Strength Steels (Dual Phase, Complex Phase, Martensitic steels etc.) are all steels which can be considered as belonging to the UHSS classification on the basis of their excellent tensile strength.
The higher crash energy absorption, high strength (lower weight) and enhanced formability of advanced high strength steels (AHSS) have attracted the attention of the automotive industry.
