As a constitutive material, they both belong to the class of quasi brittle materials, with particular reference to concrete.
Tests were performed according to standards devoted to modern building materials.
This occurs contrary to the typical property of structural heterogeneity of modern masonry according to which bricks and mortar are different materials with different material properties [2], [10]; Adobe components are geo-materials belonging to the same material class as concrete.
The experimental behavior could be well addressed using models developed for concrete materials.
