Quantitative surface measurement is an important field in many applications including
materials science and engineering quality control.
Introduction Quantitative surface measurement is an important field in many applications including materials science and engineering quality control.
This allows the use of the system for surface characterization on a wide range of surfaces, particularly engineering surfaces and wear particles.
The developments are based on the authors over 10 years experience in using confocal laser scanning microscopes in both engineering and bio-engineering areas.
Acknowledge should also go to the ARC LIEF grant (R00107928) for funding the confocal system located at and maintained by Advanced Analytical Center at James Cook University.
