Due to their high beam density and very short pulses which reduces the heat affected zone (HAZ) Nd:YAG lasers are very suitable for materials drilling.
The laser drilling process increases the microhardness of material.

NiTi alloy is one of important materials in orthodontics.
Furthermore, it is important to make surface modification in order to enhance the performance of materials.
Materials and methods Four different types of coating were applied onto orthodontic wire.
Furthermore, the orientation growth was beneficial for wound healing when materials were implanted into human body [19].

Leaving materials exposed reduces their overall quality; hence, certain structures are used to safely retain the materials for further use.
A silo is a commonly used storage structure for the storage of bulk materials such as grain and cement.
Introduction A silo is a structure used for storing bulk materials.
This silo was designed for storing agricultural materials.
Materials of higher yield strength are to be used for the silo.

Introduction Ferrites magnetic materials are a kind of very important inorganic functional materials.
It has been used in the various fields such as magnetic materials, coating, ceramic, glass, cosmetic, catalyst, and so on [1-5].
In recent years, nano-ferrite magnetic materials have become the new magnetic materials with the potential application in high-density magnetic recording and biomedicine (e.g. magnetic separations, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)) because of their small size effect, superparamagnetic and strong magnetic properties [6,7].

More and more organic polymers were used in tissue materials substitute for inorganic polymers, such as hydroxyapatite and teflon, because it can avoid the toxic and immune rejection of materials in the body effectively [1].
Materials and methods Extraction of squid skin collagen The squid skin collagen was extracted by enzymatic degradation.
After removal of insoluble materials in the dialysate, the supernatant was lyophilized to brownish and water soluble powder.

THE USE OF HIGH PRESSURE DIRECT SQUEEZE CASTING FOR SEMI-SOLID PROCESSING OF ALUMINUM BASE NANO COMPOSITES David Weiss1, a, Michael Black2, b 1 Eck Industries, Inc Manitowoc, WI, USA 2 Atriax Materials, LLC Oak Ridge, TN, USA a david.weiss@eckindustries.com, b gmikeblack@comcast.net KEYWORDS: Aluminum, Nano-Reinforcement, Nanocomposites, Semi-Solid Processing ABSTRACT The production of nano-reinforced aluminium alloys in volume and quality suitable for subsequent shape casting has been problematic.
The results show excellent distribution of 50 nm alumina particles in 2014 material.
After ultrasonic cavitation the material can be cast in either sand, permanent mold or diecasting using conventional techniques.
