Therefore, the chitosan or its hybrid materials with other natural or synthetic polymers are extensively studied for the applications as artificial skins, cartilages, or bones.
Thus, many investigations have already been made to develop a bioactive chitosan system for the application as bone restorative materials through the hybridization with chitosan and calcium phosphates.
However, there has been no report to use IPTS alone without tetraethyl orthosilicate for giving bioactivity to originally non-bioactive materials.
Therefore, some surface modification, which can give nucleation sites for the apatite crystals, is required for using chitosan as a bioactive bone repairing materials.

This research utilizes natural fibre (kenaf fibre) which is much cheaper compared to glass fibre in attempt to reduce the cost of pultruded composites which usually produced using glass fibre and hence becoming more competitive alternative materials for conventional materials such as galvanized steel.
Next, the mechanical properties of biodegradable composite materials using kenaf fibres as a reinforcement and Polyester resin as a matrix were investigated.

Introduction Molecular imprinting technology gets increasingly interesting for the preparation of useful materials with predetermined selectivity for application in several areas of analytical chemistry [1].
CS is well-known to electrodeposit in response to high localized pH values(>5.0) at cathode surface and has been widely used to mediate co-depositions of nanoparticles(NPs), enzymes, and carbon materials [9].

Scanning tunneling microscope (STM)-based electric lithography is one of the potential fabrication approaches to produce nanoscale structures on a variety of materials.
The conductive sample material is prerequisite to the STM-based electric lithography for current feedback control and the highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) bulk sample is utilized as the sample material in this work.
The material of all STM probe electrodes was Pt/Ir (80:20).

In the frequency range of 0Hz~30Hz, the damping factors of pure resin materials are higher than those of fiber reinforced resin composites.
When frequency scanning is conducted at same temperatures, the damping factors of fiber reinforced composites are always lower than those of pure EPR or UPR materials, and the carbon fiber reinforced composite shows the lowest damping factor.
