In essence, applying high strength materials into composite beams not only strengthens its bearing capacity but also can save a large quantity of material, extending the life of the structure and its maintenance cycle, and thus we get a better economic effect from it overall.
The main factors are the performance of a variety of materials which are affected.

Research on the K II C of the two types of concrete specimens Ai Min Deng 1, a, Dao Yuan Xu 1,b and Wei Xuan Zhu 1,c 1 College of mechanics and materials, Hohai University, Nanjing China 210098 ad-a-m@sohu.com, bwwwkkty2002@yahoo.com.cn, cwxzhu@hhu.edu.cn Keywords: mode II fracture; fracture toughness; fracture experiment; numerical simulation Abstract.
Introduction In the actual project, because of the existence of the initial defects within the concrete material and the role of various factors during the construction and the working phase, the appearance of crack in the concrete structures is inevitable, especially in the large volume concrete structures.
Compared to the KⅠC values of mode Ⅰ fracture test results with the same material, the KⅡC values of double-edge notched and half symmetrical load tests are much than the KⅠC values, and the KⅡC values of four-point shear load tests are slightly smaller than the KⅠC values.
