Leached elements from coal bottom ash treated with different concentration of H2SO4: (a) 0.1 M (b) 0.5 M (c) 1.0 M Chemical pre-treatment process was very effective in altering the chemical composition of CBA by removing metals like Aluminium (Al), Magnesium (Mg) and Iron (Fe).
The combination of 1.0 M H2SO4 solution and 1 h impregnation duration recorded a high removal of Al with 43 ppm, followed by Iron and Magnesium with 31 ppm and 4 ppm, respectively.
