In the present work an effort has been made to prepare Al matrix composite by 3D printing assisted rapid investment casting (RIC).
One of the reasons behind this trend may be weight/volume of SiC-Al2O3 particles presentin Al matrix was reduced with increase in diameter of the nozzle.
It should be noted that wear of unreinforced Al alloy was observed as 162µm under similar sliding conditions.
