In their review of damping studies related to composites, Chandra et al. [20] noted that there is a need to study damping in terms of its effect on stress or amplitude of vibration.
Case study and results The formulation was illustrated with a case study using data of a typical glass-vinylester composite (E0 = 1.1E10 N m-2, B = 1.5E7, ρ = 1940 kg m-3) which was tested by Daniel et al. [23].

Although, the idea of using a
powder filled in a metal tube to which different steps of drawing, stacking and bundling are applied
was suggested first by Tautzenberger et al . [20] and used recently to fabricate a copper-tungsten
composite [21].

Lee et al. [5] discussed the wall thickness of die casting parts, where different gate
designs were adopted to detect the influence of molten metal flow in die casting parts.
Joseph HA et al. [5] used CAE software to simulate and analyze a gate and running system.

Fig. 3 El. resistivity difference vs. rel. crack length: in the n and l area for specimens T69A-C (left), in the n area for all tested specimens (right)
Results of resistivity differences between the mid-span M and the reference L, R parts in the n (notch) and l (ligament) area as functions of the relative crack length (determined for the average compliance) for specimens T69A-C are shown in graphs in Fig 3 left.
