The objective of this study is to explore the role of ecological groin in improving river water quality in Wangyu River which flows into Taihu Lake, China. 1 Materials and methods 1.1 Study area As the flood diversion river course, Wangyu River connects Taihu Lake with Yangtse River, and now acts as the important waterway for “Transferring Yangtse River into Taihu Lake” project [13] (Fig. 1).
