Raw materials in the form of alternating loading of mineral raw materials and cupola coke are charged into the unit workspace in layers with the height of 5 m.
Charge materials in the melting zone remain for a significant period of time of 25-40 minutes [16-18].
Interrelation of Flow Heat Capacities The major type of heat transfer from the heated gas to materials in the cupola is thermal convection, complicated with heat conduction phenomena when heating thermally solid charge materials [19-21].

Infrared is suitable for materials that require intense heating on the surface.
Carrots having the same size and weight, with a moisture content of 85% (wet substrate), were used as wet materials.
Wet materials were placed at eight locations within the machine.
The air temperature within the chamber was 23°C, while T1 and T2 refer to the temperatures of two wet materials.
