Failure in quasi-brittle materials, such as concrete and rock, usually develops in a fracture process zone (FPZ), in which dissipative processes takes place.
The total strain energy stored within a specimen of quasi-brittle materials will scale with its size; however, the amount of dissipated energy does not depend on the specimen size but only on the width of the FPZ.
It is essential for a cohesive model to take the frictional dissipation into account as about 50% -75% of the total energy budget in failure process of quasi-brittle materials is dissipated due to friction [10].

The materials which are used for ceramic coatings onto steel silos are set as described below.
Ceramic materials processing scheme is presented in Fig. 1: Figure 1.
The thermal expansion coefficients for some metallic and ceramic materials used as biomaterials are shown in Table 1, where there is shown a big difference between the coefficients α of the two materials.

Introduction Photochromic compounds have been a growing interest from the viewpoints of fundamental academic research and also of practical applications as photo-responsive materials [1].
Among various photochromic compounds, diarylethenes exhibited some excellent characteristics, such materials can be potentially used for application to optical memory media [6-8], display materials [9,10] and so on.
For practical applications in optical devices, it is very important that photochromic materials can keep good photochromism in a polymer film.
