By establishing a Building Information Model during the phase of architectural design, architects can make good use of 3D geometric forms, spatial relationship, materials, and dimensions to understand more accurately building space and component overlapping, thus making BIM directly describe the designers’ ideas.

Materials and Methods
This research compared the tensile strengths of steel and glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) bar samples using standards from the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), validated these results with findings from the existing literature, and providing up-to-date comparative experimental data on the mechanical resistance of traditional (steel) and emerging (GFRP) materials.
The authors provide updated experimental comparative data on the mechanical strength of emerging materials (GFRP) under standardised (ASTM) regulations and promote innovative materials that are more efficient or cost-effective in construction.
The tests were conducted within the Geotechnical and Construction Laboratory of the Faculty of Earth Sciences Engineering (FICT), under the supervision and assistance of Ing.

For optimum weight reduction new materials and their fatigue behavior under real cyclic service loads have to be taken into account (Gassner test).
The materials and process design as well as results of the fatigue behavior will be presented.
The cast material ADI (austempered ductile iron) is a competing material for forging steels because of its inherent retained austenite.

It is known in literature that different damage modes occur during fatigue life of composite materials.
For non-isotropic materials moduli need to be measured in different loading directions.
