However, friction
joining processes including Friction Stir Welding and conventional friction welding discover
new merits to join new advanced materials.
These materials suffer from their brittle behavior to join, where sometimes weld cracking and porosity occur during fusion welding.
When conventional friction welding is used for joining new advanced materials, it can be solved weld cracking problems due to given compressive residual stresses on the joints.
Materials to be joined The 5000 and 6000 series aluminum alloy can be successfully fusion welded, but 2000 and 7000 duralumin alloys are difficult to fusion weld without the formation of weld defects such as solidification cracks and porosity.

Introduction Copper has been extensively studied as an interconnect material for deep sub-micron circuits due to its superior electrical resistivity and resistance to electro-migration[1].
New refractory metal binary and ternary nitrides should be considered,cobalt- base nitrides are widely recognized as an attractive class of materials.

In order to understand the current problems in the pipeline materials and to develop steels with higher strength, better toughness and weldability, this paper gives brief overview of the comprehensive of fracture behavior including crack initiation and propagation of high strength low alloy pipeline steels.
1.
Introduction Pipelines have done a great job in transporting crude oil and natural gas over long distances in the past and will also be widely used in the future, which lead the research activity in pipelines materials started decades ago to overcome the major fracture problems.
Therefore, understanding of the theory of fracture behavior in base metal and welding area in pipe materials are essential scientific approach in order to study the structural integrity of high strength low alloy steel (HSLA) analytically, numerically or experimentally.
