Tests of ergosterol, which is a component of most fungi’s cell membrane, allow us to monitor the level of fungi infestation of diverse materials.
Modern methods used to identify the presence of fungi in, among other things, construction materials, are based on e.g. ergosterol determination.
The use of ergosterol to monitor the level of fungi infestation in materials is the subject of many analyses.
During the conservation and restoration of antique floors it is important to pay special attention to preventive measures related to materials and structures.

Experimental 2.1 Main materials 4,4-diphenyl methane diisocyanate (MDI), Industrial, Yantai Wanhua Polyurethane Co.; Ltd; polyethylene glycol (PEG, Mn=1000), Industrial, Tianjin Jinyuan Import & Export Trade Co., Ltd; Epoxy resin(EP-44 and EP-51), Industrial, Tangshan northern chemical raw materials reagents Instrument; Dimethylol propionic acid, AR, Shanghai Aladdin Reagent Co., Ltd; Triethylamine(TEA), AR, Shanghai Chemical Co., Ltd; Acetone, AR, Tianjin Chemical Reagent Factory; N-methylpyrrolidone(NMP), AR, Tianjin Damao Chemical Reagent. 2.2 Preparation of WPU MDI, PEG1000 and DMPA were added into a four-neck, round bottom flask equipped with mechanical stirrer, dropping funnel, nitrogen protector and reflex condenser with a drying tube at room temperature.

This research group used inexpensive river sands as packing materials, and used ozone non-continuous aeration to form an activated film on the surface of river sands with stable manganese removal ability.
