The effect of different lead frame materials is examined to identify the mechanical characteristics and the different shapes of the lead frame with same SMD type are investigated to distinguish the reliability.
Effect of Lead Frame Materials.
The widely used materials for a lead frame are alloy 42 and Cu alloy featuring different mechanical characteristics summarized in Table 1 which influence the solder joint reliability.

Introduction and formulation of the problem The engineering of new C/AaBb (A = metal; B = O, C, B) ceramic composites and advanced hightemperature materials (in particular structurally modified, functionally graded materials) based on such composites is a challenging problem of practical importance.
Fundamentally, fine-particle materials dispersed in a carbon-graphite or graphite matrix may exhibit a number of new spectroscopic properties (modified vibrational, electronic, X-ray fluorescence and other spectra), occasionally similar to those of fullerene-like clusters.
At the Materials Week 2002 (Munich) [1], we outlined an approach to preparing carbon-graphite matrix composites containing zirconium (hafnium) carbides, suitable for the synthesis of fullerene-like clusters by the arc discharge method.

Only recently has FSW been applied to the joining of titanium [1-4] due to the difficulties associated with welding high strength alloys such as identifying capable tooling materials.
All materials were machined along the abutting edges and chemically etched to remove all potential contaminanents prior to welding.
