Abstract.
The results showed that incorporation of PNIPPAm had great effect on the structure and swelling behavior of composite films.
This approach enables fabrication of membranes with the desired pore structure.
Preparation of membranes from stimuli-responsive polymers enables fabrication of membranes with the desired mechanical properties, pore structure (porosity, pore size and pore-size distribution), and barrier structure (symmetric versus asymmetric)[7] .
Primary structures of the PU(curve a), PNIPAAm(curve b) and PU/PNIPAAm (curve c) membranes were investigated by FT-IR method (Figure 1).

Pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA, 99%, purchased from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, CAS, Changchun, China) by refluxing with an excess amount of acetic anhydride. 4,4¢-oxydianiline (ODA,99%, purchased from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry,CAS, Changchun, China) by refluxing with an excess amount of tetrahydrofuran.
The AO initially dissociates the weaker pendent bonds of the methyl and phenyl groups very rapidly, producing the volatile oxides such as CO2, CO, H2O. this leaves chains of Si-O with large areas of void around them[6], as the exposure to AO is increased the Si-O bonds dissociate and reconfigure into a more dense SiO2 film, thus this surface structure inhabit from further AO attack.

The introduction of the chemistry of fluorine into plasma jet-enhanced CVD has enabled one to deposit high-quality cBN films with high-crystallinity (micrometer-sized grains) and good adhesion to the substrate [3,4].
In the previous work, we demonstrated a way to deposit cBN films under low-energy ion bombardment (<50 eV) by low-pressure inductively coupled plasma (ICP)-enhanced CVD using the chemistry of fluorine [5].
For the film in Figure 1, the film thickness decreases from 270 nm to 195 nm, while the cBN content in the film increases from 61 % to 63 % by the plasma treatment for 15 s. cBN films prepared with high ion energies have usually double-layered structure (i.e., cBN/sp2BN/substrate).
