Summary (1) Shear deformation mechanisms of semi-solid materials are metal inhomogeneous flowing from macroscopic view and grain boundary inhomogeneous migrating from microscopic view during compression
(2) The experimental observationes of shear rheology show that when shear rate is low, semi-solid materials behave as Newtonian fluids; when shear rate surpass certain finite value (thixotropy strength), semi-solid body materials behave as pseudo- plasticity fluids.

So far, the studies with respect to the mechanical behavior of the semi-solid materials especially the fracture behavior of the semi-solid materials of thixoforging did not gain the same interest as it deserves from the scientific point of view and the literature with respect to the fracture mechanism of the semi-solid material is rarely reported[9-11].
