Abstract: Conventional production process of magnesium alloy strips involves many steps,
including multi-hot rolling and multi-heat treatment, which is time-consuming and needs high energy
cost.
Magnesium alloy strips prepared by single roll casting are suitable for Mg-based functional materials but not for structural materials because of low quality or high cost.
Meanwhile some key technologies such as smart delivering of magnesium alloy melt and design and materials of melt distribution and tip systems have been solved as well.
Single roll casting will be used for Mg-based functional materials.

Therefore, the design principle of SISDG is to improve the strength of CSM and to resist shrinkage cracks or temperature shrinkage crack, coarse aggregate should form a stable framework; in order to reduce the coefficient of contraction and thin "surplus" cement paste, the fine aggregate should closely fill the void of framework formation; in order to improve the structure durability and performance, the binding materials should coat aggregate to make the loose mineral aggregate forms a whole; in order to better simulate the vibratory road roller’s compaction on the road material in construction site, using vibration method to compact specimen.
