Many experimental and theoretical works have been carried out to evaluate the
orientation-dependent stored energy of cold deformed polycrystalline materials [4,5].

Abstract.The effects of high magnetic field (HMF) of 8T and 12T on the crystallographic orientation of magnetic-induced pearlite (MIP) in silicon manganese cast steel had been investigated by Electron Backscattered Diffraction (EBSD) technique.The results show that the differences of magnetic moment, magnetocrystalline anisotropy and magnetostriction between the parent and product with the application of the external HMF,lead to the obvious preferred orientation during the grain nucleation and growth at the early stage of phase transformation.with 8T,the nucleation and growth
