Cobalt has long been the most valued matrix material used for professional diamond tools, due to its good diamond retention characteristics [3, 4].
Despite the high and rising price, cobalt is still used in the production of professional diamond tools.
The density measurements involved weighting the specimens in air and water using the WPA120 hydrostatic weighting system.
Although the studied material has slightly lower strength and ductility as compared with cobalt, its hardness and offset yield strength are sufficiently high for less demanding applications, such as professional general-purpose diamond tools.
