This paper describes the oxidation resistance of ZrB2-SiC materials heated with solar furnace at very high temperature.
The tested materials are ZrB2 with 20%vol SiC (named ZS20) and ZrB2 with 7.5%vol SiC (named ZS7.5).
The final density of different materials is about 93%.
The decrease of SiC amount allows to improve the oxidation resistance of ZrB2-SiC materials.
Zaykoski, Journal of materials sciences, Vol. 39 (2004), p. 5904 [2] T.A.

Environmentalists have observed that the contaminants have been distributed in each part of the globe and may be a bigger problem in the future [1].Local junk foods and its raw materials used to prepare such may have been exposed and may contain high concentration of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and chromium or the rare but potential poison cyanide which is present in various forms [2].
This study involved the quantitative determination of the concentration of three heavy metal contaminants lead, cadmium and chromium in the sample products Materials and Methods Research Design This study used a descriptive, exploratory, experimental design. It focused on the evaluation of the heavy metal contents lead, cadmium, and chromium from sample junk food.
Collection of Sample Materials Thirty six brands of junk food have been randomly selected and collected from various sari-sari stores in Metro Manila, Philippines in the month of June 2012.

Effect of Aging Temperature on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of AZ81-4%Gd Magnesium Alloy
Online since: February 2013
Authors: Quan Ying Guo, Ping Li Mao, Jing Sun, Zheng Liu
The original materials were AZ91 ingot, pure aluminum (99.9%), pure zinc(99.9%), magnesium-gadolinium intermediate alloy(20.02%Gd).
When all the materials were melted, the melting was stewing for 10 minutes before casting in a metal mold of 100 mm in diameter at 700℃.
