Numerical Simulation of Dynamic Compaction at Dredger Fill Silty Yang Liu1, a, Duo Zhang1,b 1Department of Civil Engineering, University of Science and Technology Beijing, 100083, China aoceanly@gmail.com, b335797685@qq.com Keywords: Dynamic Compaction; Densification; Numerical Simulation; Dredger Fill Abstract.
To find out the solution of dissipated energy, the attenuation relationships and partition of energy is required.Field observations indicate that surface wave attenuation due to material damping is given by Dowding : (1) Where is amplitude of vibration at distance from the source, a is amplitude of vibration at distance r, and is attenuation coefficient due to material damping.Considering that energy is related to the square of the amplitude of vibration, the corresponding energy attenuation relationship is given by: (2) Where is energy content at distance from the source, E is energy content at distance r.
