During the formation of bromide complexes, a smaller change in the enthalpy factor is observed, compared to carbonates, this is due to the fact that the bromide anion is much less hydrated, and belongs to anions that destroy the structure of water, therefore the formation of a bromide complex occurs with lower energy costs and is accompanied by a smaller change entropy.

The proper amounts of sulfuric acid help to form small-numbered aromatic rings structure, which has more substitutent sites for sulfonic groups.
It can be explained that the formed small aromatic ring units may transform into larger and more regular graphite-liked structure in a longer charring time.
