Introduction Driven by the ever-increasing demands for weight reduction of automobiles to reduce emission and improve fuel economy, new advanced materials such as aluminum alloys has been constantly introduced in automobile body-in-white construction.
Because of the complexity in the deformation process the system undergoes, along with the contact and friction between different materials, numerical simulation of SPR is also a significant challenge [6-8].
Three values of the yield strength, s0.2, of the rivet materials, 500, 800 and 1520 MPa, were selected in this study.
