Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 show the meshing of helical gears in FEA between the gear and pinion of the steel C45 material for the helix angles of 12o and 17o respectively.
As a result, helix angle with a larger face width is preferred in order to determine the material strength during the manufacture of gears.
For further study, contact stress for different materials using FEA can be calculated and compared.
