Supposing the two nodal positions of the cable element are k1 and k2, the stress–strain relationship of all material remains within the linear elastic range during the whole nonlinear response, so
(5) Where, l1is the distance of k1 and k2, l01 is the unstress length correspondence with tension force P1, =P1, E and A are the Young modulus of the material and the cable cross section, respectively.

It is well known that many material and load factor have distinct influence on the ultimate capacity of combined torsional members.
It is shown that for the combined torsional members with the same section dimension, material strength and strength ratio of longitudinal reinforcement to lateral stirrup, and under the same axial compressive stress level and relative eccentricity the torsional capacity of members subjected to cyclic torque is lower than that of members subjected to monotone torque and the ratio is from 0.91 to 0.96.
