Horizontal displacements of the dam crest on the bed-rock base are principal indices of the dam strength and stability during its operation, which are conditioned by the impact of the reservoir on the dam, by the temperature changes in the dam body affected by the changes in the environment temperature and non-elastic deformations of the bed-rock base and the dam body material [1].
Research Results In order to ensure safe operation and control of technical state of Sayano–Shushenskaya hydropower plant, we have chosen the following diagnostic indices of the state control [1]: radial displacements of the dam crest: left bank section 18, key section 33 and right bank section 45, measured with the plummet, and the corresponding values of the: hydraulic head and concrete temperature in basic points Tbot and Ttop (Fig.1).
