Nowadays, the popular building structural materials are becoming rich and colorful with large price difference.
Not only new high-tech materials are more expensive than the common materials, but price difference also happens to the same type of materials.
Generally, price difference of structure materials is not the concern of architects, but its economy is indeed the concern of structure designer.
The economy of all kinds of structure materials mainly reflects from the materials dosage.
Sometimes architects’ lack of scientific analysis and the optimization of their design results may attribute to the overuse of structural materials.

Radix et Rhizoma Rhei, Fructus Aurantii Immaturus, Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis all were purchased from Zhixin Chinese Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, Guangzhou, China; Xiaochengqi decoction was prepared according to the conventional method; Rhein, aloe-emodin, nobiletin, honokiol, emodin, magnolol, chrysophanol, and physcion were all ordered from National Institute for the Control of Pharmaceutical and Biological Products, Beijing, China; Acetic acid, ethyl acetate, chloroform and hydrochloric acid, all of analytical grade; Methanol and acetonitrile, all of chromatographic grade.
