For high loss materials, loss tangent of the materials is obtained from the Lorenzian curve fit around the resonant peak.
Research on mechanical properties of materials via cantilever beams are numerous.
The materials are manufactured by Alfa Aesar (www.alfa.com) with high purity.
For materials with moderate damping, such as polymers, the loss tangent of the materials can be determined from the Lorentizan curve fit for selected resonant peaks.

The moisture content of original samples is 168%. 1.3 Laboratory Test Procedures The materials of municipal solid waste are divided into three parts, and each part is mixed uniformity in laboratory.
This is because that the less waste materials in the testing sample, and larger is the void volume, then the smaller is the shear stress.

Introduction Ultralight metal materials with a lot of holes have multi-functional properties such as lightweight(ρ<1), high specific strength, damping, anti-noise, heat transfer and so on.
The property of absorbed energy was studied usually in the plastically deforming area in these materials [7, 9], but few report was in the elastic deforming area.
These lightweight materials have high damping properties because of non-uniformity between air and metal framework.
Damping properties of these materials had been studied in different frequency range in the literatures[10-11], but a few results in ultrasonic frequency range.
