The metal sheet used in the process was C67S steel with a nominal thickness of 2.2mm.The dies material used in the experiments was the cold working tool steel S390 and the tested coating is a multilayer Ti-DLC, deposited on the surface of a flat sample by PVD magnetron spattering technique.
The material properties of the pin and the flat die are the same of the industrial dies reported in Table 1.
