Experimental
The chemical composition of the matrix alloy is Al-30Si alloy powder (≥99.8wt.%) with the mean size 8μm.
In the same volume fraction SiC particles reinforced Al – 30Si composites, with the increase of the SiC average size, the SiC particle quantity reduces, resulting in reducement of effects on the control of silicon precipitation and growth in the supersaturated Al-30Si alloy powder.
VSiC and VAl are volume fraction of the SiC and Al particles, respectively. λ is the extrusion ratio.
In the same volume fraction (25%) SiC particles reinforced Al-30Si composite, with the increase of the SiC average size, the SiC particle quantity reduces, resulting in reducement of effects on the control of silicon precipitation and growth in the supersaturated Al-30Si alloy powder.

Effect of Al powder content on the porosity, microstructure and phase constitution of Al-Al2O3-MgO composites were investigated.
With Al power content increasing, the porosity increased, resulting from the rising temperature and the reactions occuring along with the evaporation of Al.

ABSTRACT.
The mechanical properties of the Al-Mg-Si alloys are mostly contributed to the metastable precipitate phases formed during artificial aging.
The chemical compositions of the alloys are given in table 1 Table 1 Chemical composition of Al-Mg-Si aluminum alloy (mass fraction, %) Mg Si Cu Fe Mn Cr Zn Ti B 0.49 0.37 0.10 0.17 0.03 0.001 0.003 0.010 0.001 The as-cast Al-Mg-Si alloy was heat treated for 5 hours at 530°C and water quenched.
This result is in good agreement with the results obtained by Wang et al. [17].

Test Results
The fixed-base and DSB base-isolated conditions of the model ate tested using random white noises to determine their natural frequencies.
In Figure 4 the structural responses of the fixed-base (fix) model and of the DSB base-isolated model (DSB) under El Centro seismic wave are compared in terms of (a) normalized peak story accelerations for different PGA values, (b) maximum story displacements.
Figure 4 Summaries of Normalized Peak Story Acceleration and Maximum Story Displacement under El Centro Earthquake Wave The comparison of the time history of roof acceleration response between the fixed-base and DSB base-isolated structures under the El Centro earthquake of 0.4g in PGA is shown in Figure 5.
Figure 5 Roof acceleration of fixed-base (fix) and DSB base-isolated (DSB) steel structure during El Centro earthquake (z direction, PGA=0.4g) Figure 6 Isolation effect under four sets of earthquake waves Conclusions Vertical base isolation has been applied to enhance the seismic performances of three-story steel frame model.
