Effect of Carbon doped in BN on thermodynamic properties Jing Ao Ai-ling Ding Chun-mei Li Feng Li Jin Wang Zhi-qian Chena School of Materials Science and Engineering, Southwest University, Chongqing,China aChen_zq@swu.edu.cn Keywords: BN, density functional theory, bulk modulus, thermodynamic properties Abstract: The thermodynamic properties of (B1-xCx)(N1-xCx) (x=0, 0.25, 0.5) are calculated by the ultra-soft pseudo-potentials within local density approximation in frame of density functional theory with virtual crystal approximation and using the quasi-harmonic Debye model.
Thermal properties of materials mainly includes the temperature and pressure effects on some physical quantities, such as heat capacity, bulk modulus and thermal expansion coefficient.
Thus, (B1-xCx)(N1-xCx) with x=0,0.25,0.5 is superhard materials with good structural stability under high temperature, and (B1-xCx)(N1-xCx) with x=0.5 is the best according to Fig.2(a).

The heat amount release by the material addition - the thermite steel should be sufficient to produce the rapid melting of the base material in the contact area with this, the further solidifying assuring thus the permanent joining.
Materials and Methods In order to quantifying the effects of iron oxides proportion in the thermitic compositions on the level of the reactions enthalpies namely on the thermal effect of the aluminothermic reduction reactions of iron oxides has been performed by using a specialized software [4,5].

Currently, the pumpability of HS & HP concrete appears to be a pressing issue in our country. 2.1 The optimization of raw materials It is fairly important to select and optimize the raw materials for the preparation of C80 HS & HP concrete.
In order to preferably tackle the problem of pumpability, the design of mix proportion in relation to the C80 concrete utilized in this project, apart from the consideration of conventional parameters as the rational adoption of total amount of binding materials and sand coarse aggregate ratio, has attached more attention on the following control measures. 2.2.1 The control of grain composition of admixture The slag powder and silica fume are selected and used as the admixture in accordance with the features and supply of local materials.
The C80 concrete mixture individually added with slag powder (25% of total amount of binding materials) has a better liquidity and a poor uniformity, and inclines to appear the exudation and bottom-holding phenomenon, which is to the disadvantage of ultrahigh pumping; when mixed with slag powder (20% of total amount of binding materials) and silica fume (3% of the total amount of binding materials), the C80 concrete has seen great improvement where the liquidity and uniformity are concerned.
The experimental results may be caused by the following two aspects: (1). the thickness of C80 concrete and low exudation rate of pressure result to the small exudation of 10s and the subsequent larger dispersion of experimental results. (2). since the larger application of binding materials in C80 concrete, the exuded water contains much binding materials that block the water outlet, leading to the large deviation of data.
