It has been pointed out that the size effects of elasticity may be caused by the non-local influence between discrete structures of the materials[11,12].
Yang et al. further simplified Fleck and Hutchinson’s formulation, and introduce a linear elastic model for isotropic materials[18].
For homogeneous, centrosymmetric, isotropic materials, the strain energy density takes the following form[14] (1) in which, and are Lame’s constants and , and are constants in the HSGE model (see Toupin[13] and Mindlin[14] ).

Preliminary Investigations on the Reduction of Foot Pressure Measurement and Muscle Activity with Different Insole Materials
A.
FEA was done to determine the force distribution under the foot using two different insole materials.
Dynamic loading pressure data collected and Table 1 shows the outcome measurement for four subjects using two different types of insole materials.
This can be associated with the mechanical properties of the both materials that have shock absorbing characteristic.
The effect of poron and plastozate insole on forefoot plantar pressure, British Journal of Podiatry, 9 (2006) 111-114
