Pseudo dynamic test.Pseudo dynamic test was an online test that combined the loading system with the computer .By pseudo dynamic test,we could analyzed the load feedback, acceleration and displacement reaction, the changing process of strain of the steel frame.It was beneficial to analyze the elastic-plastic stage performance,observe the change of structural performance and could carry out the seismic test for large size specimen .However it couldn't reflect the effect of material strain rate on the structure and the actual circumstances of undertaking the force distribution.

Inhomogeneous construction materials such as concrete, stone or masonry require the use of long-gauge sensors to measure strain, since local sensors can provide erroneous data due to local material changes.
This contribution briefly introduces fiber optic and MEMS sensing technologies and will than illustrate their application to structural health monitoring through several examples, including the new I35W bridge in Minneapolis USA, the Ile d’Orléans suspension Bridge in Québec Canada and the shaking-table test of a full-scale masonry building reinforced with composite materials.
The use of the SOFO long-gauge sensors can provide parameters directly related to structural behavior such as curvature or deformation, parameters that are not influenced by local material defects in inhomogeneous material such as concrete or masonry.
