Bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) is an interesting multiferroic material for photocatalytic applications with a small band gap (2.2 eV), good carrier transport properties, large absorption of visible light extending up 750 nm and high chemical stability during the photocatalytic process [3-5].
A Scanning electron microscope (SEM; JEOL JSM-5410LV) coupled with EDX was used to analyze the microstructure of the materials.
However the material is not pure phase BiFeO3, and also consists of the secondary phase Bi2Fe4O9.
