Abstract.
A new type of double pore size activated alumina/activated carbon multiphase material was made by using waste aluminum slag and activated carbon as main raw materials.
Table 2 lists the iodine adsorption values of three materials.
Clearly the benzene adsorption capability of the new material is superior to that of pure activated alumina or activated carbon materials.
Furthermore, the benzene adsorption effect of multiphase materials is excellent.

These types of structures are classified like composite materials with polymeric fiber matrix and in this field of activity are not many investigations.
In order to develop a more advanced model it is necessary of a multidisciplinary research group in order to combine the most advanced sciences at his moment, like: composite materials, textiles - microfibers, chemistry and also mechanical science.
