In addition, due to the fact that the low winter temperature in China's northern region makes the concrete structure prone to freeze-thaw damage and this tends to have an adverse effect on the durability of the structure as well as the rainy and snowy weather in winter can cause corrosion of reinforcement, it is recommended to take the following measures:
During winter intermission, in case of cold weather, it is necessary to have the already poured concrete segments cover materials such as geotextile for heat preservation maintenance;
For the bare external lap joint main reinforcement in the final construction stage, measures to proof moisture and prevent rain and snow measures needs to be taken;
Emphasis must be laid on safety inspection of bridge structure so as to avoid accidents in winter intermission.

With some mechanical measures, such as designing a flame arrester, adding external heat sink to the pump body and improving piston diaphragm material, etc.
