Water regulation and Gate Station North Water Transfer water monitoring system is the water regulation system for the Mid-route of the South-to-North Water Transfer Project’s primary business applications.
Its functions are a water allocation routine business deal, long-term water management plans preparation, real-time programming schedule of water, water emergency programming schedule, water measurement, evaluation and scheduling features such as remote monitoring Gate Station.

However, due to the complex of indoor pipeline facilities, the need for water, lack of fire eliminating pertinence, limited ability to intercept the fire, self-limited fire water; fire engines need to use supplies from the outdoors.
According to statistics, many domestic high-rise public buildings have set up refuge floors, but most of the refuge floors are generally combined with the equipment, fire water supply system and exhaust system zoning.
Following aspects should be considered for fire safety design of high-rise buildings: (1) The overall layout is reasonable and design idea is clear; (2) Division of evacuation stairwell and the fire district are rational; (3) All components of high-rise buildings should have adequate fire resistance limit; (4) The design of safe evacuation routes is reasonable; (5) Secure and stable linkage system should be used in the equipment of automatic fire alarm system and fire-extinguishing system: (6) Water design of high-rise building should be well done in case that there is sufficient volume of water when fire broke so as to play a role of non-fire retardant; (7)Non-combustible or flame retardant materials are used as much as possible for interior decoration to reduce the amount of combustible material, so as to improve safety index.
Any advanced fire-preventing facilities and equipments are operated by man, according to "the PRC Fire Law" requirements, fire control room operators need to be fixed and have to go through the professional training of fire prevention and obtain certificates before going on duty ; staff posts should properly grasp the performance of fire preventing facilities, using methods, general troubleshooting and other professional skills, as well as persist in doing routine maintenance, and timely discover and exclude insecure factors disturbing equipment operation

Finally, in Chapter 9, Gomes dos Santos et al. present a theoretical and experimental study of water absorption in polyester matrix composites reinforced with sisal fiber at temperatures of 25ºC, 50ºC and 70°C.
The results show that high water bath temperatures accelerate the absorption process and the water absorption of the sisal reinforced polymer composite with 3 mm of thickness is faster than the with 6 mm of thickness.

Based on the need for more biocompatibility, hydroxyethyl-metacrylate (HEMA) soft hydrogel contact lenses, known as water-loving polymers and possessing high gas permeability, were then introduced.
Nicolson and Vogt [2] showed that the evolution of contact lenses was driven by an increased understanding of the physiological needs of the cornea, beginning with the first hydrogel polymers developed by Wichterle, followed by a variety of high water hydrogels.
The attractiveness of these polymers from a medical standpoint relates to their ability to maintain high content of water as well as their better oxygen permeability.
On the other hand, machining of gas permeable polymers can be satisfactorily achieved as long as the polymer stock contains very little water.
