Effectiveness of Steel Slag Powder on Suppressing Alkali Aggregate Reaction of Concrete Li Yunfeng, Liu Shuai, Du Rongqiang, Kong Fanying College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Shandong University of Science and Technology, Qingdao 266510, China yfli@sdust.edu.cn Keywords: Concrete, Alkali Aggregate Reaction, steel slag powder, accelerated test, durability.
One of the most significant activities stressed by the engineers and scientists related to concrete industry aims at a high percentage of replacement of clinker in cement with secondary raw materials, with the possibility of improvement of cement characteristics and durability of concrete.
However, differences in the relative reactivity of Pyrex glass and the aggregates used in concrete construction should be considered in the engineering decision-making process.

In the USA, 101 million tons of RAP were reused in 2021, with 96% recycled into bituminous products and 4% used in other civil engineering applications [6].
Of this, 64% was recycled into new asphalt mixes, and 33% was utilized in various civil engineering applications, underscoring a strong circularity approach within the construction sector [7].
