Introduction Nowadays, sintered high-speed steel (HSS) are no longer the primary materials used in cutting tools.
In many high-speed cutting applications, HSS has been replaced by new, superior ceramic materials.
Unfortunately, the mechanical and frictional properties of such materials are very poor in many cases.

The samples with the size of 50mm×13mm×1.5mm were cut from two type of steel materials.
The results of the corrosion rates of the two materials under different temperatures are shown in Fig. 3.
By changing CO2 partial pressures, the corresponding corrosion rates of the two materials are plotted in Fig. 6.
Fig.7 shows the corrosion morphology of the two materials under different carbon dioxide concentration at 200℃.
It shows that the two materials still uniformly corroded in a carbon dioxide environment.

It was modelled as an elastic-plastic, isotropic, Huber/Mises material.
Further tests involving different materials are required to provide evidence of the quality of structural changes and industrial feasibility of processing long billets.
