Materials and methods The experimental program was carried out at the Civil Engineering laboratory of University of Minho and involved the characterisation of 8 low cost meshes made of different materials and 9 mortars with different compositions.
The particle size distribution of the earth based mortars and constituent materials is given in Fig. 2.
